It’s a new year, a fresh start filled with hopes and pursuits. In 1 Chronicles 16:11, we are reminded, “Look to the Lord and His strength; seek his face always.”
In a world that is constantly bustling with activity and demands, it can be challenging to place God at the forefront of our lives. However, the Bible urges us to seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Making God a priority requires intentional effort and obedience to His Word. The peace that surpasses all understanding begins to guard our hearts and minds (Philippians 4:7).
As we prioritize God, we are not caught up in fleeting pleasures and anxieties. His wisdom becomes our guide, and we gain confidence in facing life’s challenges without fear. God’s protection surrounds us, and His presence becomes a source of strength and comfort.
Putting God first is a daily commitment. It involves practical steps and intentional choices. Start your day by expressing gratitude, acknowledging God’s sovereignty, and seeking His guidance throughout each day. Spend time in devotion, meditating on the Word in the morning and evening (Joshua 1:8). You can join a study group to delve deeper into the scriptures and deepen your commitment to discipleship.
Pray continually, presenting your requests to God and expressing gratitude. Make conscious decisions that reflect your commitment to putting God first, and watch as your life transforms in ways you could never have imagined.
