Embracing New Beginnings

18 “Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
19 See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the wilderness
    and streams in the wasteland.”

Isaiah 43:18-19  NIV

Often, we meet opportunities for new beginnings. Whether starting a new job, moving to a new city, or embarking on a new chapter of life, these moments can bring excitement, anticipation, and sometimes even fear.

Setting Our Priorities

It’s a new year, a fresh start filled with hopes and pursuits. As we embark on this journey, it’s essential to set our priorities straight, and what better way to begin than by making God our top priority? In 1 Chronicles 16:11 we are reminded, “Look to the Lord and His strength; seek his face always.”

trust god

How Do You Trust God?

“But I trust in you, O Lord; I say, “You are my God.”
– Psalm 31:14 ESV

In order to trust God in God you must have confidence in him. You have to believe in his word, in his strength and his ability to sustain you. You can not doubt him. Do you have confidence in God?

Prepare Your Heart for Christmas

The Christmas Holidays are always a busy time of year.  I don’t know about you, but I have a calendar of events and a long To-Do list that keeps me running. I’m busy with decorations, shopping, gifts, and holiday celebrations.  This year, I wanted to be intentional about reading God’s scriptures and praying during the season, so I decided to add seven scriptures and prayers to my To-Do list.

Four Ways to Be an Authentic Women

When I first realized the gravity of the pandemic, I have to admit I was fearful. I was not sure what to believe. Things seemed out of control. As a woman of faith, I knew God was in control, but how could I protect myself, my family, and my friends? It did not take me long to grasp I was not in control. God’s word is clear in both Matthew 6:25-34 and Philippians 4:6 ESV, “Do not worry” and “Don’t Be Anxious”.

Reflect on Holy Week

The week leading up to Easter is Holy Week. Reflect on the significance of Holy Week and Jesus journey. Take time to read the story in Mathew 28, Mark 16 and Luke 24.

The Blessing of Prayer

I have discovered one of the greatest benefits of prayer is the relationship that I have built with God. I have come to know that it does not matter whether I am on my knees, in worship, walking or driving; what is important is that I am communicating and listening to Him. He is my best friend and prayer is how I talk to Him.

love yourself

Love Yourself!

“He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.”
– Romans 5:5

On Valentine’s Day, there is a heavy emphasis on relationships and love. I’m challenging you to remember the most important form of love in our lives is “SELF LOVE.”

self-love

Are You Speaking Self-Love?

Are you speaking self-love? As I was thinking about celebrating love in February with my dearest ones, I began to ponder self-love. What is it? Do I love myself and create a practice that brings me happiness? Am I investing in a self-love routine?

One-Lane Road

The first quarter of 2020 kicked off with a bang. As a Type A personality, I was on cruise control and enjoying the ride. From my perspective, the detour seemed to be just a narrowing down to a one-lane road ahead. I only had 50 miles to go, so not a big deal. Detours are usually only a few miles, or so I thought. Suddenly, another detour appeared with a flagman waving a sign for traffic to slow way down. Then the traffic stopped! Now, I am at a crawl. That detour sign read “COVID-19”.
